November 8, 2011 ~ Seoul Lantern Festival

So this month there is the lantern festival at 청계천 Chonggyecheon, a stream in Seoul that is a popular date place. I was so excited to go. I love lights. :P I couldn't believe all of these were made of paper.
The Chinese zodiac characters were the first. In the beginning, it was like we were in line for a ride at Disneyland, but as the night went on, there were less people and the atmosphere became much nicer. ^^

Playing instruments at the royal court.
A makeshift of one of the gates.

I thought this family was so cute. They were all huddled around their one lantern, the kids so excited to put it in the water. This scene made me long for my family and made me think of when I was child and all the memories my family made.

The fire blowing peacocks. Yes, peacocks. I thought perhaps they were phoenixes, but the sign said peacocks.
The blue I could understand, but this really looks like a phoenix.
There was a row of trees with different types of lanterns on each one. I think this display was my favorite.

Yes, my boyfriend and I floated a lantern down the river as well!

He bought me a souvenir. Isn't is SO CUTE!!!! ^^

November 5, 2011 ~ Cat Cafe

So, as you can guess, owning a pet in Seoul is a bit difficult. So, there are places like this Cat Cafe (there is also a dog one, and a fish one) where you can go and have a drink and spend time with the animals.

I kept playing with his tail. He came down eventually hehe!
I kept trying to play with this one, but he wasn't interested until he noticed the big neon yellow bow charm on my cellphone.
I thought this one was nice looking, the pattern of his coat is just wild, but so was he. He kept swiping at the other cats that came near him.
At first, none of the cats came by me. I think they knew I was a dog person. However, this little cutie came and hopped on my lap and I was in love!!

October 29, 2011 ~ 창덕궁에 단풍 구경! 진짜 예뻤어!!!! ^^

So to the view the fall foliage, I went to Changdeokgung Palace (창덕궁). It was soooo beautiful. So here are some pictures to share with you!

You could take a rest here in one of the old buildings, as if you were like one the royal family that used to live here. The little house is over 300 years old!

I was trying to kick up the leaves. As you can see, I kicked up A LEAF. :P haha!
So beautiful!!!

October 28, 2011 ~ Trick Eye Museum

Trompe I'oeil at it's most... unusual? Creative? Either way, FUN!! My friends and I went to this little interesting museum where you pose with the paintings as if you are actually a part of them! Most of the photos were taken by one of my friends.

 Hehehehe!

The mirror room. This was very cool. There's a reason they say don't run in here. ^^

 I don't like to clean.
 How's my posture. Good, no?
The most shopping bags you'll ever see me with!

 Ewww. >.< Hahaha!
